Emma Ashford

Emma is a songwriter, playwright, and performer originally from California, now based in Brooklyn. A 2024–25 Dramatists Guild Writing Fellow, her musical Miss America has received development at Goodspeed and been recognized by the O’Neill. Her work has been recognized across musical theatre and film festivals nationwide.

At Woodward, Emma will be working on an immersive musical farce set in NYC’s elite childcare ecosystem, as well as a new piece set at a training facility for mass casualty first responders.
