Sarah Goeke

Sarah is a writer and filmmaker originally from southeast Missouri and now based in New York City.

In her original series Forked, a woman heals from the purity culture of the Bible Belt through sobriety and dragon fantasy erotica. Forked won Best Series at Cinefest NYC and Best Webisode at the Pittsburgh Independent Film Festival, with additional selections at Sidewalk Film Festival, Lighthouse International Film Festival, was nominated for Best Comedy Short at Cindependent Film Festival, and others.

Goeke’s other screenwriting work has been featured at festivals including the Phoenix Film Festival, New York No Limits, Grimm Fest, Popcorn Frights, and Another Hole in the Head, among many others. Her stage work has been produced at Parker Performing Arts Center (Denver), AT&T Performing Arts Center (Dallas), and Brooklyn Art Haus (NYC).

As an actor, she appears in The Martyr of Gowanus (opposite Sawyer Spielberg), leads the award-winning indie feature and through the portal we go…, and has credits on Last Week Tonight, City on Fire, and Law & Order: SVU.

At Woodward, she will be working on a screenplay about two up-and-coming female wrestlers with opposing ideologies struggling to find their place in the corporate structure of pro-wrestling.
