Christina Mallie

Christina is an artist and humanitarian. Her commitment to supporting the creativity of youth and girls is rooted in her own experiences of engaging with the arts to work through trauma as an adolescent. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Hunter College and a Master of Science in International Affairs from the New School with a focus on conflict and security. She has worked as a consultant with the Population Council.

As Executive Director & Co-Founder of Colors of Connection, she has designed and implemented programs in Liberia, Burkina Faso and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). She has spent the last 14 years building concrete opportunities for the collaborative arts to facilitate artistic healing and expression for young people in places where resources are scarce and the incidence of trauma high.

At Woodward, she will be working on developing collaborative creative activities for Colors of Connection's work in Democratic Republic of the Congo
