Cecilie Mengel

Cecilie is a Danish visual artist based in New York. Driven by innate curiosity, she constantly absorbs elements from her surroundings. Each of her projects is guided by a sense of wonder, allowing her to explore a wide range of themes and concepts. Her fascination with human behavior fuels her inspiration and research, leading her to delve into the complexities of interconnectedness.

The project Cecilie is currently focused on is Fracture Points, an evolving photographic series that explores the complexities of intimate relationships through a female lens. Drawing on her own relational experiences, attachment theory, and conversations with other women, the work reflects on recurring situations and patterns—examining the shared desire for connection, emotional entanglements, and shifting power dynamics.
