John Yurchyk

John (b. 1989, Youngstown, Ohio) is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at the City College of New York and founder of John Yurchyk Architect PLLC. He received a BS in Architecture at Kent State University and a MArch at The Ohio State University where he received the ALA Student Merit Award. John is a licensed architect and practices through a collaboration focused methodology.

John has worked as a designer in several architecture offices, including MOS and AZPML. Most recently, John was a project architect at Resolution: 4 Architecture, focused on leveraging the efficiency of prefabricated modular construction for residential housing and homes.

John’s research is directed towards the in-between, hybridization, and accumulation of architectural visualization techniques along with curatorial and communication tools used to engage the public. He has co-taught the MFA Interior Design “Representation and Spatial Analysis” course at Parsons School of Design. He has served as a guest critic at Pratt Institute, Columbia GSAPP, Parsons School of Design, Kean University, Barnard College, New York Institute of Technology, Kent State University, and The Ohio State University.

At Woodward, John will continue ongoing research into the history of architectural visualization, develop new project representation, and sustain his architectural practice.
