Edward Nguyen
Edward is a Vietnamese American director based between New York and Austin. A recent graduate of Yale University, Edward’s work explores the intersection of Vietnamese/diasporic experience and queerness, incorporating kink, folklore, and the surreal.
He is a 2026 UFO Short Film Lab Fellow, a 2026 Film at Lincoln Center Artists Academy Fellow, and is a recipient of the Colin Higgins Youth Filmmaker Grant with Frameline. His latest short film, Sweat (Mồ Hôi), premiered at BFI Flare.
At Woodward, he will develop a script his feature about a haunted recluse searches for a mythical frog whose capture promises rain.
