Annie Gaudioz Young
Annie is an actor, writer, filmmaker, and ceramicist based in Brooklyn. She trained at NYU and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
As an actor, her work spans Netflix, HBO, Apple TV, NBC, CBS, Warner Bros, and several indie films, including a major supporting role in an upcoming feature (that she can't name yet, NDA, womp womp). Her award-winning short film, Serpentine, screened at festivals across the US and Europe. As a writer, she's drawn to characters living in the grey, where what goes unsaid often says the most.
Rooted in sculpture and a longstanding love of surrealism, Annie's ceramics live in the rub between utility and expression: she typically creates functional objects that incorporate anatomically accurate body parts, favoring texture and imperfection over polish.
At Woodward, she will be developing her first feature, Matrescence, in which two sisters spend 48 hours honestly reckoning with how motherhood has and could still change them.
