Bianca Farrow

Bianca is a photographer, educator, and program director whose creative practice lives at the intersection of making and teaching. She creates community-centered spaces and programs that weave together art, social justice, and collective well-being. Her own artistic work spans photography, alternative printing processes, bookmaking, and whatever new craft she's teaching herself at the moment. Bianca played a pivotal role in the growth of the Bronx Documentary Center, where she built an internationally renowned documentary photography and college success program for middle and high school students. Currently, she designs and facilitates youth participatory action research (YPAR) programs, where young people use research and storytelling to investigate issues important to their communities.

At Woodward, Bianca will develop a curriculum that centers arts-based participatory research methods for young people and lay the groundwork for a youth program in Ridgewood.
