Colin Stearns

Colin is a photographer, photobook maker, and educator based in Ridgewood, Queens. His work is under the imprint Nonlinear Books, producing research-driven photobooks that pair original photography with archival material — including "the Line", an ongoing project on the Mason-Dixon Survey's history and its constructed mythology.

His current project, The Riflemen, uses the 1950s–60s television western "The Rifleman" as a lens to examine isolation, patriarchy, and violence, unfolding as a series of photobooks.
