Antonin Fajt

Antonin is a composer and pianist from the Czech Republic based in New York. His work explores the themes of nocturnal music, embodiment of environmental rhythms, and the integration of traditional, folkloric practices from Eastern European and contemporary music through improvisation. At Woodward, he plans to write a suite of compositions for improvisers with fragments of Leoš Janáček's and Olivier Messiaen's music. He studied music in Bard College with Joan Tower and completed his PhD in UC Irvine.
